I had an amazing experience at Kies on Saturday. I, unfortunately got there just as they were about to close, but they still let me do wine tasting and explained about the wines. I said I would return the next day to buy the wine so they could go home after an exhausting day. On the Sunday I returned to more wine and left there very happy. Lovely staff. Very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
The barrel room tour with Bronson was hands down the best winery experience of my and my husbands life! The knowledge and environmental awareness that the Kies family bring to their wine making is phenomenal and this evident in the final product! The tour was educational, relatable and seriously interesting - for anyone who has an interest in how wine comes to be, I 150% recommend this experience. We also stayed on for lunch at the cafe on site and took several bottles home to enjoy. All in all 12/10 day! Thank you Bronson!
I took the family out for a birthday celebration on Sunday and decided to go somewhere new. Went to the Kies family wine Cellar Door. We were greeted with a big smile and it only got better from there. Did the wine tour with Michael who has a passion for his work you don''t normally see, the pride of being able to show people their amazing setup and how they make there wines was so genuine. Wine tasting followed where we tasted some awesome wines served by Jesse and Meg who kept the great experience going, then next door to the Monkey Nut Cafe food was sensational and the service was terrific. Will be my go to place from now on when I have Interstate Guests and any celebrations. Thank you for the hospitality Jesse.
This cellar door is well worth a stop when in the Barossa Valley. The wines are amazing, reasonably priced and the staff were knowledgeable and good fun. Found it hard not to buy everything we tasted. Recommend a meal also. The food was terrific and the views from the table topped it off perfectly. If you're looking for bulk tawny these guys have it. I've been adding Kies tawny to my barrel for 20 years.
Shiraz Sensations Event 28 Agust 2021 Very friendly and welcoming in a relaxed setting. Impeccable matching of Japanese inspired dishes with a range of Shiraz wines including sparkling Shiraz which the winemaker explained is quite dry, not sweet as might be expected. This wine can be chilled for a refreshing Summer drink. I found the explanation of how the wines were made, the audience they were made for and the foods they compliment added to their enjoyment. This resulted in buying wines not previously considered to be my taste, once their purpose was understood. Well done for a most enjoyable afternoon Jesse, family & staff. Highly recommended for quality, enjoyment and value. Will be at the next one with more of my family.
